The Whites win weekend’s North West Stages.

Once again Motor Sport North West managed to come up with a rally that provided another tough test of man and machine by cramming 22 tests run over 4 venues into just 24 hours.  The event may have been taking place 3 weeks later this year than in recent times, but Blackpool in February and the weather will always throw up some surprises.  This time it was the efforts of Storm Doris passing by on the Thursday that caused a few headaches for setup crews but these were quickly sorted out the next day.  However, once the Mayor of Blackpool was ready to wave away the first cars at 18:30 on Friday night, the rains had returned.  And over the next 24 hours, these rains were accompanied by strong winds that made driving conditions very tricky for most of the special stages.

We had 18 crews that made it over the start line on Friday night but only half of them would return to the final Main Control In on the Saturday evening.  It’s never been an easy rally and here’s a very brief synopsis of our championship contenders who contested the event.
