Roadworks block the western access road to the Awards venue.  Unfortunately, Network Rail has started work on the road bridge over the railway right beside the stadium and stopped all access to this bridge.

This means that no one can drive from the A693 (Stanley to Chester-Le-Street road) and through the Drum Industrial Estate to reach the Pelaw Grange Stadium.  Instead of taking their usual exit, people should continue for 0.6 mile ESE on the A693 to the next roundabout before turning left and heading north up the A167.  Proceed past the Lambton Worm Hotel and then take the next left just after the Wheatsheaf pub.  This left entrance to the Drum Industrial Estate is 100m before the next roundabout adjacent to the Barley Mow pub.

Anyone who is travelling from the A1 (M), either north or south, and then using the A167 will not be affected in any way.

A quick reminder in that the Awards Presentation takes place on Wednesday 23rd November starting at 20:30 with doors opening at 19:30.  And for those of you who haven’t joined us before - the postal address of the venue is Pelaw Grange Greyhound Stadium, Drum Road, Chester le Street, Co Durham; if you’re relying on a satellite navigation system - the post code is DH3 2AF and you’ll be able to find it on OS map 88, the reference is 271537.

The guest speaker on the 23rd will be Scott Martin who currently co-drives a DS 3 World Rally Citroen on selected rounds on the WRC this year.  After handing out the awards to the lucky winners, there will be a hot buffet and the chance to catch up with everyone over a drink.  There will also be the latest news of the 2017 series.
